Heading To SF

Well, I just finished up the last of my Christmas prints for clients. I am picking up the last one in the next few minutes. Then Alyse and I are off to SF in the morning. Should be a good Christmas, we are going to stay with Alyse's brother and his wife and the two boys. Alyse's parents are coming out as well. We are going to go to Alcatraz, I have never been.
I am also hoping to be able to get a fair amount of skating in. Scott skates and I am going to try to hook up with my buddy Dave of "Pray For Me, The Jason Jessee Movie". I need to see his Knuckle that he built (I will post pictures as soon as I can) and also hopefully skate his pool. I am looking forward to a good trip.

Trish and John
I am going to start posting some of the weddings that for some reason or another, I just did not get to show everyone from this last year. So maybe one a week or so. I have them and I really like the images, so here it goes.
The first is Trish and John's. Great friends, and John and i went through fire academy together and now work togther on Elk Creek Fire Rescue in Conifer. The wedding was a great time. I wish them all the best.

new space

Well, I am almost all moved in to the new studio. I have shot a few thigns here and they have worked out very well. I am hoping to have it all dialed by the time we leave for SF on Saturday. It is quite a task, the moving and all. I am trying to post some images but things just are not working so well.
I will get some more posted in the next day or so.

New Firefighters and New Studio

Well, the last week has been very exciting in my life. Last weekend I got a new badge at the department, which is nice and more importantly, the rookie class of 07 was sworn in. Now Elk Creek has six more firefighters. I think about half the class washed, which seems to be the norm. The class this year is a good one with a lot of strong people, which will be a real asset to the department.
I worked for Lt. Parks last week and had a good shift, busy all day, full nights sleep then busy in the morning. Two days before that we had a working fire that made a mess of the house but the dog was saved. I got to work with Forest and Scanlon, class of 03 was back in action.
I am neglecting the other great news, I got moved into the new studio. It is great, so much better than the old shop. I will be posting some pictures soon.

The New Digs

Here it is, the new digs. Concept Photography is moving to Broadway and Alameda. We will be in the Imperial Building, an old hotel that was built in 1891. The Hallways have a bit of the Shining feel to them. I love it. The new studio is 25X25 with an office off to the side. It has 2 24"X 70" windows an exposed brick wall and hardwood floors. It is a far cry from the dungeon that I am woking in now. It is on the second floor and has 5 minute access to down town (and 30 seconds to the Skylark)
This is a good kickoff for some of our new projects. With the new space we will be renting the Studio out to photographers for work. The rate can include all of my equipment or none or it. I am also going to be doing a bit of teaching to some photography groups.
Well, Winter has finally come, cold as can be and snowing at home. Not snowing yet here but it is on the way. The ski areas are getting dumped on, they are measuring in feet instead of inches.

New Digs

So I have been trying to find a new studio space. Where I am located is ok, it is nice, looks good but has zero personality and even less soul. I have found a great space located in town on Broadway and Alameda, second story old building, lots of exposed brick and the price is right, I am hoping to get into it in the next few days. It will be a great move, a good way to celebrate the first year of the studio. That of course will mean a party to break in the new joint. I will keep you all posted as to the details.
I have been making images of newborns lately and not posting any of them, so here are a few. Enjoy.

slacker

Well, I have put off working on this for a while. I have finished up weddings and then senior portraits started, then family portraits for the holidays. I am not complaining of course, I feel blessed to have the work I do.
I did not post any pictures from the wedding of a great friend, Alex Jennings. Alyse and i went out to Tennesse where he married the mayors daughter. Good work. It was a grand time. We spent most of the time sipping adult beverages and relaxing. Good times.
We also went to what was billed as the Worlds largest flea market. I am not sure if I belive it but it was fun. I purchased a great belt buckle and a blue grass cd. And for the record, these images were shot on tmax 100, no meta data, I have no idea what I set the camera at, I was just making pictures. Long live film.
